Dammuso del sol levante (The house of The rising Sun): an island inside the island

The encounter between mankind and nature finds its best expression in Pantelleria, where wild and unpolluted landscapes of the island melt perfectly with the ancient knowledge of the inhabitants, the creators of unique structures like the dry stone walls, the pantescan gardens and obviously, the dammusi. A misterious and unique harmony, made of thousand shades of blue of the sea, the simple beauty of the stone and the sweet luxuriance of the grapes, orange and lemon trees.

This is the essence of Pantelleria, an experience to live at the Dammuso del Sol Levante: a true small village where to relax and find absolute peace, an island inside the island that has different levels, immersed into the silence and the beauty of the pantescan landscape.

The Dammuso del Sol Levante is located on a hill on the oriental side of the island and has different buildings, all of them ancient, like the Punic water tank, but recently refurbished, The mix of red and purple color of the bouganvillea in the garden slopes offers a unique trip that changes each hour: from the Cala Tramontana stack to the romantic views of Tracino, almost a nativity scene set against the rocks and the breathtaking view from the pool, that can offer unforgettable cocktails at sunset.

The dammuso can host up to 6 people in three double bedrooms in two differet buildings, furbished with refined semplicity and whose soul is connected with the Maghreb. In the first dammuso there's a wide romantic suite with an elengant bathroom, a comfortable studio lounge characterised by a wide window facing the sea and an area with morroccan sofas set aginst the alcove. The other two bedrooms are located in a wider second building, whose arcades, vaults, ravines and traditional alcoves follow each other in a continuous dazzling rithm and connected to the first dammuso by terraces used as living room and external dining area with design chairs and dining table. Each bedroom as an ensuite bathroom, characterised by colours, furniture and accessories made of ethnic hand made ceramics and traditional wrought-iron.

There are many details that make the Dammuso del Sol Levante unique: from the very well furbished kitchen, with oven, microwave and dishwasher and the antique Valenza tiles combined with the cement vitrified and coloured of the floors and work surfaces, to the living room with fireplace, a space with great character, furbished with antique Morroccan mother-of-pearl carved furniture dating from early 900 and its hammam- bathroom in of one the bedrooms.

On the outside, there's a luxuriant Mediterranean garden that invites to relax between oleander tres, bouganvilleas, aromatic bushes, dracaena and palm trees. Multilevel terraces that allow to live to the top each moment of the day: from peaceful corners where to read a book or to just relax, to the barbecue, where you can have an under the stars dinner, and the typical ducchene, ideal for a quick peaceful break.

Last but not least, the beautiful stone made swimmig pool overlooking the sea makes the stay at the Damnuso del Sol Levante an unforgettable experience: between one plunge and another, you may also relax in the charming "shade room" with a hanging sofa and armchair. Next to the pool there's a tastefully furnished bathroom and and external shower area.

The dammuso, exceptionally silent thanks to its secluded location, has a private parking and it's accesible only by a private road but still near some of the best locations of Pantelleria such as Cala Tramontana, Gadir and its thermal waters and the Elephant Arch. The nearest villages where to shop and dine are Khamma and Tracino.
