The magic of abitare Pantelleria’s (of living in Pantelleria’s) magnificent and ancient dammuso of more than 150 years old, which has been renovated while keeping its original structure, paving and atmosphere of the past. The pleasure of gazing from the terraces a panoramic view of the Zibibbo plantation, breath-taking sunsets and incredible view of the African coast: welcome to the Nicchia dammuso, where you can delve into the many wonders of a natural environment and Pantescan traditions.
Different levels and stairs shape the dwelling into a 3 double-bedroom dwelling. A large stone-archway takes you into the wide and elegant living room decorated and refinished in grey smooth cement, with a fireplace, 2 sofas, TV, audio system; a fixed arched glass panel gives you a glimpse of the central palm and the sea. The built-in kitchen with steel appliances and antique tiles on the walls sets of the theme of the entire dammuso, by intertwining an antique and a modern style.
Also in the bathrooms there are fragments of the original plaster and floors matched with smooth cement walls giving to the rooms a decisive character.
Outside, the aromatic plants and the surrounding vegetation frame the large swimming-pool and the outside areas. There are shaded areas covered by wooden cane roofs with comfortable double-hammocks and typical Pantescan “ducchene” (stone-seating area).
The Nicchia dammuso is located in Contrada Rekhale at a short distance from the centre named after it and Scauri. There are many places where you can go, for a swim along the south-western coast, for a walk towards the fumaroles or Montagna Grande’s resort or towards archaeological sites (such as Mursia) in Pantelleria, all easily reachable from the dammuso.
