Rosso di Sera

type: residential

The dammuso Rosso di Sera is located in the west side of the island and precisely, in the beautiful and picturesque contrada of Scauri but is when the colour and the light dim and become bewitching that the strategic position of the dammuso gives the opportunity to admire the unforgettable sunsets. A view that reaches Scauri’s harbour and the sea and that also allows to see the African coastline an Cape Bon.

Rosso di Sera is an ancient property with an iconic character and its original structure is wide and roomy and dates back to the end of 1700, beginning of 1800, surrounded by the rich land: the plots belonging to the property- 3500sqm of terraces- are cultivated with citrus trees, almond trees and fig trees.

The dammuso is quite big, has an amazing view and a private road to reach it. Its aesthetical appearance mixes perfectly with the surrounding rural landscape as it was renovated enhancing its shapes and keeping its original structure.

The handmade stones of the building and the dry walls that surround it, tell us its history and they also make up the boundaries of the property with large terraces, drawing a unique landscape where nature and mankind have found their perfect balance.

The interior of the dammuso is composed by 8 rooms with high vaults and majolica floors, two bathrooms and two warehouses that can be restored and converted into a building of 30sqm more.

There’s also a big above-ground water tank that works as terrace for the external living room and that can also be restored into something else, according to personal requirements.
