Now it’s the turn for Pantelleria Doc Festival that until Sunday 9th of September allows you to discover its Doc wines from all over the island; a meeting where the wines of Pantelleria serve as link to the program of the event, telling us about the Pearl of the Mediterranean from an original point of view.

THE AGENDA OF PANTELLERIA DOC FESTIVAL

What to do in the morning
Nature, sports, culture, wine & food traditions and social events: there’s something going on every day, plenty to choose from thanks to the many faces of Pantelleria. First of all, the many excursions by foot, by bicycle, by boat or kayak for the pleasure of seeing the many natural beauties of the island and in order to appreciate from the land and from the sea the Pantescan landscapes, made of cultivated terraces and dry lava stone walls. There are routes for those who love wellness, with natural sauna, mud and thermal waters, while for those who love archaeology there are the ruins of the first settlements on the island ready to be discovered, from the prehistorical Sesi until Roman Empire ruins. You can’t miss the daily meeting with the vineyards in order to participate at the harvesting, the most important moment of the ancient and unaltered process called “heroic” wine growing, the cultivation of Zibibbo grapes from its characteristic saplings, declared UNESCO world heritage.

What to do in the afternoon
Many things to do for those who love wine and food, with guided visits to the different wine producers of the island, or to producers of local products such as capers, olive oil, cheese and preserved sauces, or even seminars and guided tastings to know better the Doc wines among other local products of the island.

What to do in the evening
It’s even better after sunset: the party goes on with aperitifs and dinners, where the Doc wines of Pantelleria – a rich offer that includes dry white, , moscati, passiti and sparkling wines- glorify the dishes prepared by the best chefs of the island made with local ingredients. Not only: the island’s cuisine, with its secrets and recipes, it’s the main character of four appointments dedicated to Pantescan Cuisine.
Last but not least, the after dinner tastes like passito di Pantelleria, where every night you can taste it together with different and surprising matches, from cigars to chocolate, from jazz to meditation. Finally, on Saturday evening there’s a Wine Party, with music, wine and fun. For those who love Bacchus and for those who don’t, you’re advised: with its harvesting and the many events, September is a time not be missed in Pantelleria.
