In an island that already gives the possibility to live close to the most unpolluted and authentic nature, there’s a place that allows you even more to switch off from everyday life and enjoy peace and silence, colours and sounds of the sea: Martingana, located at contrada Dietro l’Isola, at the south west of Pantelleria.
This side of the island has been recently declared national park, which it makes the place ideal for living a unique experience of a holiday in close contact with the sea and the surrounding nature: it’s here where the dammuso Stella Marina is located, an exquisite building, recently refurbished, with a breath-taking view; a landscape made of slopes reaching the coast, that can be admired from the terrace that completes the property.
The dammuso is characterized by the contemporary style in which grey and black colours and modern materials like resin, share the space with more traditional furniture made of wood and slate; it can host up to four people in two comfy and cozy double bedrooms.
There is also a wide bathroom with shower and an eat-in kitchen that connects to the living room, where a big window allows you to admire the view over the sea. From the living room to the terrace, where there is a dining table perfect for a lunch or an aperitif with a view, complemented by the traditional ducchene, on where to lay down to sunbathe or just sit to admire the amazing starry sky that Pantescan nights offer. The dammuso has free Wi-Fi, giving the chance to remain connected to the outside world as Martingana has no telephone line. But even this can be seen as a treat if you’re looking for absolute silence.
From the dammuso Stella Marina all the unpolluted inlets and coves that characterize this side of Pantelleria can be easily reached, with its beautiful seabed, it’s worth a boat trip from there to the Elephant Arch (Arco dell’Elefante). The closest villages in where to find grocery stores, bars and restaurants are Tracino and Khamma
